The Cascades offer up whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling and great biking and hiking trails.
The beautiful scenery of Tennessee and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Whether you're Cove Creek Cascades whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This is the only paddling stretch along Cove Creek.
You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby Cove Creek Cascades campgrounds. There are plenty of Cove Creek Cascades hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. This section of Cove Creek in Tennessee is 1.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section.
Briefly about the general area: Since you're here at Cove Creek why not visit Little Cove Gap. Lots of rainfall falls at Cove Creek; the month with most of the rain is March, and October is when it's the driest. Through the months of summer at Cove Creek highs are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows all through the winter for Cove Creek tend to be in the 20's.
